Solid State Drives (SSD) - Fast data carriers in small format

SSD storage - short for Solid State Drive - is the state of the art that manufacturers and users can rely on with a clear conscience. Long loading times and inefficient work are thus history! Many providers, such as Samsung, SanDisk or Crucial, offer high-performance and high-quality data media.

Advantages of SSD storage

Compared to HDDs, SSDs work with a significantly faster write and read speed. Due to the storage principle of a flash memory, SSDs are also more fail-safe and significantly quieter, which is particularly appreciated in the professional sector. The longer life also speaks for the use of solid state drives. In addition, the newer data carriers can also be easily installed in almost all devices, as they are usually smaller than hard drive disks (HDD).

Form factors and interfaces

Basically, different SSD models can be distinguished in their form factors and interfaces. The most common form factors are 2.5" and M.2. Regarding the memory interface, solid state drives are differentiated between SATA and NVMe. The even faster M.2 NVMe SSDs are offered in all common sizes and bring additional performance advantages and space savings.
