Monitors - Everything in view with razor-sharp images

Working, surfing or gaming: without monitor it usually remains dark. But not all monitors are the same. Depending on the area of application, displays differ in many properties: panel type, resolution, refresh rate, but also size, ergonomics and connections are only a small part of it. Monitors can be divided - like PCs - into the professional, home / office and gaming area.

What do you need to consider when buying

1. Application: What do you need the monitor for? Often, you need different features in the professional field than in gaming. What are your requirements for the monitor?
2. Size: Which screen diagonal do you prefer? Diplay sizes are specified in your diagonal in inches. Common lengths here are 24 inches, 27 inches or 34 inches.
3. Panel type: Different display technologies have different effects on the display and the quality of the image. Nowadays, we usually distinguish between the two panel types IPS and TN LCD. IPS panels are becoming more and more common and offer ergonimic advantages in addition to technical ones.
4. Refresh rate and response time: The refresh rate in Hertz and the response time from gray to gray in milliseconds are often decisive. Particularly in gaming, high refresh rates and fast response times are preferred here.
5. Connectors: Which connectors do the graphics card or motherboard support? Displays usually support several different connectors. However, these must match the ports of the graphics card or the integrated graphics on the motherboard. HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA or DVI are common, and USB-C is often the latest. But don't worry if the dream monitor does not support the rich ports: In the hardware section you will find a variety of different cables and adapters.
6. Ergonomics: What ergonimic features should the monitor have? Many monitors are not only height adjustable, but also rotatable, tilting or have a pivot function.
